Description

Delightful Apple Cheesecake Wonton Cups combine creamy cheesecake filling, sweet apple pie filling, and a crumbly streusel topping all nestled in crispy baked wonton wrappers. Perfect as a bite-sized dessert for parties or a comforting treat anytime.

Ingredients

Wonton Cups

  • 24 wonton wrappers

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Apple Topping and Streusel

  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare Wonton Cups: Spray two 12-cup muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray, then gently press one wonton wrapper into each cup, allowing the corners to fold upward to form cups. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8 minutes until the wrappers are crisp but not browned. Remove from oven and let cool slightly in the tins without removing them.
  2. Make Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer on medium speed, blend until smooth and creamy – about one minute.
  3. Prepare Streusel Topping: In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, all-purpose flour, quick oats, and melted butter using a fork until the mixture forms large crumbly clusters.
  4. Assemble Cups: Once the wonton cups have cooled a bit in the muffin tins, spoon an even amount of the cheesecake mixture into each cup, then add a layer of apple pie filling on top. Finally, sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over each cup.
  5. Bake Assembled Cups: Place the filled and topped wonton cups back in the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8 to 10 minutes until the streusel topping is golden and the filling is set. Remove and let cool to desired temperature before serving. Optionally, top with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Wonton wrappers are delicate; handle gently to avoid tearing when forming cups.
  • Let the cups cool slightly before assembling to prevent sogginess.
  • The streusel topping can be made ahead and refrigerated.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature for best flavor.
  • Optional: Add cinnamon or nutmeg to the streusel for extra warmth.
