Description

These Brisket Sliders combine tender, finely chopped brisket with a rich honey and molasses BBQ sauce, layered on sweet Hawaiian rolls with melted Swiss cheese. Enhanced with apricot preserves and a touch of brown sugar, then topped with everything bagel seasoning and fresh parsley, these sliders are perfect for a delicious, crowd-pleasing appetizer or meal.

Ingredients

Brisket Filling

  • 2 cups finely chopped brisket (leftover or deli)
  • 16 ounces K C Masterpiece Honey and Molasses BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • Dash garlic powder

Sliders

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese slices
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brisket: Finely chop the leftover or deli brisket until you have 2 cups ready for use in the sliders.
  2. Make BBQ Sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, apricot preserves, brown sugar, and a dash of garlic powder. Stir well and heat over medium heat until bubbly. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise using a large sharp knife. Arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish to form the slider base.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Spread the chopped brisket evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Spoon the prepared BBQ sauce over the brisket, then top each with a slice of Swiss cheese.
  5. Top and Season: Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese. Brush the tops with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with Everything Bagel Seasoning and chopped fresh parsley.
  6. Bake Sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the sandwiches are heated through.
  7. Optional Toast: For a toasted top, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 1 minute, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  8. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve warm with the remaining BBQ sauce and your choice of sides such as chips, pickles, or relishes.

  • If you prefer a spicier slider, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the BBQ sauce mixture.
  • Leftover brisket works perfectly for this recipe, making it a great way to use up cooked meat.
  • For a lower-fat version, use reduced-fat Swiss cheese and butter substitutes.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning can be found in most grocery stores or made at home with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, onion, and salt.
