Description

Bunny Bait is a delightful no-bake snack mix featuring a crunchy blend of Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey Nut Chex cereal, salted peanuts, and mini pretzels coated in smooth melted white chocolate wafers. Finished with colorful M&M’s and optional sprinkles, it’s the perfect sweet and salty treat to enjoy or share during festive occasions.

Ingredients

Cereals & Mix-ins

  • 2 Cups Honey Nut Cheerios
  • 3 Cups Honey Nut Chex cereal
  • 1 ½ Cups pretzels (Snyder’s itty bitty minis recommended)
  • 1 ½ Cups salted peanuts
  • 10 Ounces M&M’s (milk chocolate, pastel blend)

Coating

  • 15 Ounces white melting wafers (Ghirardelli recommended)

Optional Decorations

  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey Nut Chex cereal, salted peanuts, and mini pretzels. Mix well to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  3. Melt wafers: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate melting wafers on the defrost or low setting. Stir every 30 seconds until completely smooth and melted to avoid burning.
  4. Coat mixture: Pour the melted wafers over the cereal and nut mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure that every piece is evenly coated with the melted chocolate.
  5. Add M&M’s: Gently fold in the M&M’s to the coated mixture, being careful not to crush the chocolate candies.
  6. Spread mixture: Transfer the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out into an even layer. Sprinkle sprinkles on top if using for added color and texture.
  7. Set the snack: Allow the Bunny Bait to set at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until firm. Alternatively, refrigerate for about 10 minutes to speed up the setting process.
  8. Break into chunks: Once set, break the Bunny Bait into bite-sized chunks or pieces, and serve immediately or store for later enjoyment.
