Description

Delight in these festive Chocolate Dipped Peeps Pops, a fun and colorful treat perfect for Easter or any celebration. Soft marshmallow Peeps are skewered on sticks, dipped in smooth milk chocolate, and topped with vibrant sprinkles for a sweet and whimsical snack that’s easy to make and sure to impress guests of all ages.

Ingredients

Marshmallow Pops

  • 16 Peeps marshmallows
  • 16 straws or lollipop sticks

Chocolate Coating

  • 10 oz Ghirardelli milk chocolate melting wafers

Toppings

  • Easter sprinkles (colored sugars, decorative sprinkles, or other preferred toppings)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sticks: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Gently push a straw or lollipop stick into the bottom of each Peeps marshmallow, creating a pop for easy handling and dipping.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Melt the Ghirardelli milk chocolate wafers using a microwave or double boiler. For microwave method, place the wafers in a wide microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 30 seconds, stir, then repeat in 30-second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Dip the Peeps: Holding each Peeps pop by the stick, gently dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat completely. Tap the stick on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate and create a smooth, even finish.
  4. Set the Pops: Place the dipped Peeps into styrofoam, a cardboard box, or a cake pop holder upright to allow the chocolate to begin setting. Once partially set, transfer them onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  5. Decorate: Melt additional chocolate and drizzle it over the coated Peeps. Immediately sprinkle with Easter sprinkles or colored sugars so they stick to the chocolate before it hardens.
  6. Allow to Harden: Let the chocolate harden completely at room temperature before serving. Enjoy your colorful, chocolate-covered Peeps pops!

Notes

  • Use a wide and deep bowl for melting chocolate to make dipping easier.
  • If chocolate starts to thicken while dipping, gently reheat it in short bursts to restore smoothness.
  • Styrofoam or a cake pop holder works best to hold the pops upright while chocolate sets.
  • Store finished Peeps pops in a cool, dry place to prevent melting and keep them fresh.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate such as dark or white chocolate for variety.
