Description

This crispy Air Fryer Ravioli recipe transforms simple ravioli into a deliciously golden, crunchy appetizer or snack. Coated in a seasoned panko and parmesan breadcrumb mixture, then air fried to perfection, these raviolis are quick to prepare and burst with flavor when dipped in marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Ravioli and Coating

  • 1 lb. fresh or frozen beef ravioli (or any ravioli of choice)
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray (nonstick)

For Serving

  • Marinara sauce, warmed
  • Additional grated parmesan for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350˚F to warm up and ensure even cooking of the ravioli.
  2. Prepare Breading Mixture: In a large shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, stirring well to integrate all ingredients evenly.
  3. Set Up Dredging Stations: Place flour in one bowl and beaten eggs in another separate bowl, maintaining three bowls total for the breading process.
  4. Bread the Ravioli: Dredge each ravioli first in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, followed by coating it thoroughly with the panko breadcrumb mixture. Repeat until all ravioli are coated.
  5. Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Spray the air fryer basket lightly with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Air Fry the Ravioli: Place the breaded ravioli in an even layer inside the basket. Spray the tops with additional cooking spray. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip each piece and cook for another 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Cook in Batches: If cooking multiple batches, remember to spray the basket between each batch to avoid sticking.
  8. Serve: Transfer the crispy ravioli to a serving dish, serve alongside warmed marinara sauce and garnish with extra grated parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen ravioli, but if using frozen, do not thaw before breading and air frying.
  • Feel free to swap beef ravioli with cheese, spinach, or your favorite ravioli filling.
  • Spraying the ravioli with cooking spray before and during cooking helps achieve a crispy, golden crust.
  • Adjust the seasoning blend according to your taste preferences for a personalized flavor.
  • Serve immediately for best texture, as the crispy coating can soften if left to sit too long.
