Description
This crispy Air Fryer Ravioli recipe transforms simple ravioli into a deliciously golden, crunchy appetizer or snack. Coated in a seasoned panko and parmesan breadcrumb mixture, then air fried to perfection, these raviolis are quick to prepare and burst with flavor when dipped in marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Ravioli and Coating
- 1 lb. fresh or frozen beef ravioli (or any ravioli of choice)
- 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Cooking spray (nonstick)
For Serving
- Marinara sauce, warmed
- Additional grated parmesan for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350˚F to warm up and ensure even cooking of the ravioli.
- Prepare Breading Mixture: In a large shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, stirring well to integrate all ingredients evenly.
- Set Up Dredging Stations: Place flour in one bowl and beaten eggs in another separate bowl, maintaining three bowls total for the breading process.
- Bread the Ravioli: Dredge each ravioli first in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, followed by coating it thoroughly with the panko breadcrumb mixture. Repeat until all ravioli are coated.
- Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Spray the air fryer basket lightly with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Air Fry the Ravioli: Place the breaded ravioli in an even layer inside the basket. Spray the tops with additional cooking spray. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip each piece and cook for another 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Cook in Batches: If cooking multiple batches, remember to spray the basket between each batch to avoid sticking.
- Serve: Transfer the crispy ravioli to a serving dish, serve alongside warmed marinara sauce and garnish with extra grated parmesan if desired.
Notes
- You can use fresh or frozen ravioli, but if using frozen, do not thaw before breading and air frying.
- Feel free to swap beef ravioli with cheese, spinach, or your favorite ravioli filling.
- Spraying the ravioli with cooking spray before and during cooking helps achieve a crispy, golden crust.
- Adjust the seasoning blend according to your taste preferences for a personalized flavor.
- Serve immediately for best texture, as the crispy coating can soften if left to sit too long.
