Description

This Easter chocolate cornflake nest is a delightful no-bake treat combining rich dark and milk chocolate with crunchy cornflakes, shaped into a festive bird’s nest and filled with colorful Easter-themed candies. Perfect for celebrating the holiday with a fun and easy-to-make dessert that requires minimal cooking skills and delivers a classic nostalgic flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Chocolate Mixture

  • 200 grams 75% cocoa dark chocolate
  • 200 grams 46% milk chocolate
  • 75 grams unsalted butter
  • 175 grams 1 Ingredient cornflakes

Decorations

  • 1 pack chicky choccy speckled eggs
  • 1 pack Percy Pig and his chirping chicks candies
  • 175 grams scrummy bunny munch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tray: Line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper to prevent sticking and allow for easy removal of the chocolate cornflake mixture after it sets.
  2. Melt the Chocolate and Butter: Place a large bowl over a pan of simmering water (creating a double boiler) and melt together the dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and unsalted butter. Stir gently until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Mix in Cornflakes: Remove the bowl from heat and fold the cornflakes into the melted chocolate mixture carefully, ensuring the cornflakes are evenly coated without breaking too many.
  4. Form the Nest: Pour the chocolate-cornflake mixture onto the lined baking tray, shaping it into a 22cm circle. Press a well into the center to create the shape of a nest, leaving room to add the Easter sweets later.
  5. Chill to Set: Transfer the tray to the refrigerator and chill for about 1 hour until the chocolate nest is fully set and firm.
  6. Decorate and Serve: Carefully peel off the greaseproof paper and place the nest on a large plate or cake stand. Fill the center with the chicky choccy speckled eggs, Percy Pig and his chirping chicks candies, and scrummy bunny munch to create a festive Easter presentation.

Notes

  • Be careful when melting chocolate to avoid it seizing; use low heat and stir gently.
  • Use a large enough tray to comfortably shape a 22cm nest without the mixture spilling over.
  • Store the finished nest in an airtight container in the fridge to keep it fresh and crunchy.
  • Feel free to substitute or add other Easter-themed candies for decoration.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten free, but always check cornflakes labels if gluten sensitivity is an issue.
