Ingredients
Flatbread Base
- 4 mini naan breads (or flatbread or crust of your choice)
Toppings
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce of choice (plus additional to drizzle on top if desired)
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 cups shredded or chopped chicken breast
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced or diced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- Hot honey to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare the Base. Place each mini naan bread on the prepared baking sheet. Spread about 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce thinly and evenly over the surface of each naan. Sprinkle a small amount of minced garlic or garlic powder over the sauce for extra flavor.
- Add Toppings. Divide the shredded or chopped chicken evenly, spreading about 1/2 cup over each naan. Then sprinkle about 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese on top, followed by diced red onion to cover the surface.
- Bake the Flatbreads. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the mozzarella cheese is melted and golden brown, and the bottom crust is crispy.
- Finish and Serve. Remove the flatbreads from the oven. Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over each one. Drizzle hot honey to taste on top, and add extra BBQ sauce drizzle if desired for additional flavor. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Mini naan breads work well as a convenient flatbread base, but any flatbread or pizza crust can be substituted.
- Use cooked chicken breast (rotisserie or leftover grilled chicken works great) to speed up prep time.
- Adjust hot honey amount according to your preferred level of sweetness and heat.
- For extra crispiness, you can pre-toast the naan for 2-3 minutes before assembling.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and heated in the oven to maintain crispness.
