Description

This Easy Hot Honey BBQ Chicken Flatbread recipe combines tender chicken, tangy BBQ sauce, melted mozzarella, and a kick of hot honey on a crispy naan bread base. Perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight meal or a tasty appetizer, these flatbreads bake up beautifully with a golden crust and a sweet-spicy finish.

Ingredients

Flatbread Base

  • 4 mini naan breads (or flatbread or crust of your choice)

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce of choice (plus additional to drizzle on top if desired)
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups shredded or chopped chicken breast
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced or diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Hot honey to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Flatbread: Place each naan bread on the prepared baking sheet. Spread about 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce evenly over each naan, then sprinkle a small amount of minced garlic or garlic powder on top to add flavor.
  3. Add Toppings: Distribute 1/2 cup of shredded or chopped chicken evenly over each naan bread. Next, sprinkle 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese on each, followed by the diced red onion to add sharpness and texture.
  4. Bake Flatbreads: Bake in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted, turned golden brown, and the flatbread’s bottom is crispy to your liking.
  5. Finish and Serve: Once baked, sprinkle the flatbreads with fresh chopped cilantro and drizzle hot honey to your taste preference for a sweet and spicy kick. Optionally, add a drizzle of extra BBQ sauce before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute mini naan breads with any other flatbread or pizza crust of your choice.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey according to your spice tolerance.
  • For a more intense garlic flavor, use fresh minced garlic rather than garlic powder.
  • Ensure the oven is fully preheated to achieve the crispiest crust.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or halved depending on servings needed.
