Description
A quick and creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta recipe that combines tender angel hair pasta with a rich garlic-infused parmesan sauce. Ready in just 15 minutes, this comforting dish is perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 teaspoons garlic, minced (approximately 4 cloves)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup whole milk
- 8 oz angel hair pasta
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter completely. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant, ensuring not to burn the garlic.
- Add Liquids: Slowly pour in the chicken broth, followed by the milk. Stir well to combine all the liquids smoothly in the skillet.
- Season the Sauce: Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning if using. Stir the mixture and bring it to a gentle boil to blend the flavors.
- Cook the Pasta: Add the angel hair pasta directly into the simmering sauce. Let it cook and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and to allow the pasta to absorb the sauce.
- Incorporate Parmesan Cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Gradually add the grated parmesan cheese while continuously stirring to help the cheese melt evenly into the sauce, thickening it as the pasta absorbs more liquid.
- Serve: Once the sauce has thickened and the pasta is tender, serve immediately. Optionally, sprinkle extra parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.
Notes
- Use whole milk for the creamiest texture; you can substitute with 2% milk but the sauce might be slightly less rich.
- Angel hair pasta cooks quickly; be sure to watch closely to avoid overcooking.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
- Freshly grated parmesan melts better than pre-grated and enhances the sauce consistency.
- Optional Italian seasoning adds a hint of herbaceous flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
