Description
A quick and healthy twist on the classic banana split, featuring fresh banana, strawberry Greek yogurt, mixed fresh fruit, crunchy granola, and a drizzle of almond butter for added creaminess. Perfect for a nutritious snack or light dessert.
Ingredients
Fruit and Base
- 1 banana
- 5 ounces strawberry Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh fruit (berries or other fruit of your choice)
Toppings
- 1/4 cup granola
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- Optional: 2 teaspoons water (to thin almond butter if needed)
Instructions
- Slice the banana: Slice the banana lengthwise in half and lay the halves on a plate to form the base of the banana split.
- Add the yogurt: Spoon the 5 ounces of strawberry Greek yogurt into the center space between the banana halves.
- Top with fruit and granola: Sprinkle the fresh fruit of your choice and the granola evenly over the yogurt and banana halves.
- Drizzle almond butter: Drizzle the almond butter on top. If the almond butter is too thick to drizzle, stir in up to 2 teaspoons of water to loosen it slightly before drizzling.
- Serve immediately: Enjoy your healthy banana split right away to benefit from optimal texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe banana for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Substitute strawberry Greek yogurt with any flavored or plain Greek yogurt as preferred.
- Feel free to swap out granola for nuts or seeds to adjust texture and nutritional profile.
- Mixing almond butter with water helps make it drip-friendly without losing taste.
- This recipe is ideal for a quick breakfast, snack, or healthy dessert.
