Description

This Hot Chocolate Cheesecake Dip is a decadent and creamy dessert perfect for sharing. Combining smooth cream cheese, rich melted bittersweet chocolate, and fluffy marshmallows baked to golden perfection, this dip is ideal for parties or cozy nights in. Serve warm with fruit, crackers, or cookies for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar

Chocolate

  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate baking bars
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Toppings

  • 1 to 1.5 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175℃) and lightly grease an 8-inch round baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Cream Cheese Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and sugar. Beat on medium-high speed for a couple of minutes until the mixture is light, fluffy, and fully combined.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Break the bittersweet chocolate bars into small pieces and melt them using a double boiler over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in the microwave on half power in 30-45 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
  4. Combine Chocolate and Cream Cheese: Pour the melted chocolate into the cream cheese mixture. Beat for another 1-2 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure everything is smooth and well incorporated.
  5. Assemble Dip: Spread the chocolate-cream cheese mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan. Top with mini marshmallows and sprinkle chocolate chips over if using.
  6. Bake: Bake the dip in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and slightly toasted.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm immediately with a selection of fruit, crackers, and cookies for dipping.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for smooth mixing and texture.
  • Bittersweet chocolate provides a rich, balanced flavor; substitute semi-sweet if preferred.
  • Be careful not to overbake to prevent marshmallows from burning.
  • If you don’t have a double boiler, microwave melting should be done in short bursts to avoid scorching.
  • This dip is best enjoyed warm for the creamiest texture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and gently rewarm before serving.
