Description

These Lofthouse Sugar Cookie Truffles are a delightful and easy-to-make treat combining the soft texture of classic sugar cookies with a creamy cream cheese center, all dipped in smooth chocolate and optionally topped with festive sprinkles. Perfect for holidays, parties, or anytime you crave a rich, bite-sized dessert.

Ingredients

Cookie Truffle Base

  • 10 Lofthouse sugar cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese

Chocolate Coating

  • 8 oz dipping chocolate
  • 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crumb the cookies and mix: Place your Lofthouse cookies into the bowl of a mixer and mix on medium speed until they become fine crumbs. Add in the cream cheese and continue mixing until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Form truffle balls: Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of the cookie-cream cheese dough. Press the dough in your hands and roll it into a smooth ball. Place the balls onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 3 minutes to firm up.
  3. Melt the chocolate coating: Melt the dipping chocolate along with half of the coconut oil either over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring to combine. If the chocolate is too thick for dipping, add the remaining coconut oil to thin it out.
  4. Dip and decorate: Using a fork, dip each cookie ball completely into the melted chocolate. Place the coated truffles back onto the lined sheet pan. If desired, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles immediately after dipping.
  5. Set the chocolate and serve: Allow the chocolate coating to set for at least 10 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate to speed up the process. Once set, enjoy your delicious truffles.

Notes

  • For firmer truffles, chill the dough balls longer before dipping.
  • Use good-quality dipping chocolate or chocolate chips for best flavor and texture.
  • Sprinkles are optional but add a festive touch perfect for celebrations.
  • Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • If the chocolate hardens too much while dipping, gently reheat it to maintain smooth consistency.
