- 2 ounces dark chocolate bar, chopped
- 1½ cups heavy cream, chilled
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup Nutella
- Chopped hazelnuts, for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate: Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it using a double boiler or microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Combine Nutella and chocolate: Add Nutella to the melted chocolate and stir until well combined. Set this mixture aside to cool slightly.
- Whip the cream: In a large mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream using a hand or stand mixer at medium-high speed for 3–4 minutes until it becomes slightly thickened.
- Add sugar and whip to soft peaks: Add the powdered sugar to the cream and continue beating until soft peaks form. Save about 2 tablespoons of this whipped cream for garnish later.
- Mix Nutella-chocolate with whipped cream: Gently fold the Nutella and melted chocolate mixture into the remaining whipped cream. Fold carefully to keep the mousse light and fluffy without deflating it.
- Pipe the mousse: Transfer the mousse into a piping bag, cut off the tip, and pipe the mousse evenly into serving glasses or bowls.
- Chill to set: Refrigerate the prepared mousse for at least 1 hour so it can set properly and develop a smooth, creamy texture.
- Garnish and serve: Just before serving, top each mousse cup with a spoonful of the reserved whipped cream. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts and optionally some chopped chocolate on top for added crunch and flavor.
