Description

These Oreo Cheesecake Cookies combine the rich creaminess of cheesecake with the classic crunch of Oreo cookies in a soft, chewy cookie form. Perfect for Oreo lovers craving a decadent treat with a unique twist, these cookies are easy to make and bake into delightful little desserts.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 (8-ounce) package full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups (176g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 15 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar together until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix thoroughly, making sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
  2. Add Dry Ingredients and Oreos: Add the flour and salt to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Then gently fold in the roughly chopped Oreo cookies. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour to firm up.
  3. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheets: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow even baking.
  4. Shape the Cookies: Scoop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart to allow room for spreading. Flatten each mound slightly using wet fingers to shape into cookie form.
  5. Bake Cookies: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set. Remove from oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough helps control the spread of cookies during baking, resulting in thicker, chewier cookies.
  • Use room temperature butter and cream cheese to ensure smooth mixing and proper dough consistency.
  • You can substitute regular Oreos with any Oreo variety or similar chocolate sandwich cookies for flavor variation.
  • For extra cookie crunch, reserve some chopped Oreos and press on top of the dough mounds before baking.
  • Store finished cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for extended freshness.
