Description

A refreshing and fruity Peach Sweet Tea recipe that combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with brewed black tea, perfect for a cooling summer drink. This beverage balances the rich flavor of tea with the smoothness of fresh peach puree and a hint of sweetness, served chilled over ice and garnished with lemon slices.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 6 black tea bags
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 5-6 cups cold water

Peach Puree

  • 7-8 large ripe peaches (peeled, pitted and sliced)
  • 1 ½ cup granulated sugar

Garnish & Serving

  • 1 lemon (sliced for garnish)
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Place 6 black tea bags in a container with 4 cups of hot water and let it steep for 5 minutes to extract the rich flavor.
  2. Prepare Peach Puree: While the tea steeps, add the peeled, pitted, and sliced peaches to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth to create a fresh peach puree.
  3. Optional Straining: For a smoother texture, strain the peach puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp and any solids.
  4. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix the hot brewed tea, peach puree, and granulated sugar together, stirring thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is uniform.
  5. Add Cold Water: Stir in 5 cups of cold water to dilute the tea and balance the sweetness. If the tea flavor is too strong, you can add an additional cup of cold water as needed.
  6. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the mixture until well chilled. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or fresh peach slices for an extra touch of freshness.

Notes

  • Peeling peaches can be made easier by blanching them briefly in boiling water, then placing in ice water to loosen the skin.
  • Adjust the sugar quantity based on your sweetness preference or substitute with honey or agave syrup for a different flavor.
  • Straining the puree is optional but recommended for a smoother drink without pulp.
  • This tea is best served chilled and consumed within 2-3 days for freshness.
