Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the flaked roasted salmon, panko breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, lemon zest, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped chives, and parsley to a medium-sized bowl. Season with a couple of large pinches of kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste.
- Mix Gently: Mix the ingredients just until well combined, being careful not to overmix to maintain a tender texture in the patties.
- Form Patties: Divide the salmon mixture evenly into four parts. Shape each portion into a patty about 1-inch thick, ensuring uniform size for even cooking.
- Prepare Grill: Grease a grill pan or outdoor grill with vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat to ensure a good sear without burning.
- Cook Patties: Place the salmon patties on the hot grill pan or grill. Cook each side for 3 to 5 minutes until a dark golden-brown crust forms and the patties are cooked through.
- Assemble Burgers: Serve the salmon burgers on toasted brioche buns topped with Dill Yogurt Sauce, fresh lettuce, sliced red onion, cucumber, additional fresh dill, and capers. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Do not overmix the salmon mixture to avoid tough burgers.
- Ensure the grill or grill pan is hot before cooking to get a nice crust.
- Use roasted salmon for best flavor; you can substitute with cooked fresh salmon if needed.
- Dill Yogurt Sauce can be made by mixing Greek yogurt with chopped fresh dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
