Ingredients
Brownie Base
- 1 Box brownie mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)
Coating and Filling
- 1 Cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 ¼ Cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ Cup marshmallow fluff (or 20 mini marshmallows)
- 1 Teaspoon oil (optional, for thinning chocolate)
- Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Bake the Brownies: Prepare the brownies as directed on the brownie mix box, using an 8-inch square pan to achieve a soft interior. Bake according to package instructions and allow them to cool completely.
- Scoop and Soften: Using a spoon, scoop out portions from the center of the cooled brownies, avoiding the crunchy edges. Place the brownie scoop in your palm and gently squish it multiple times like Play-Doh to soften and combine the texture.
- Fill and Roll: Flatten the softened brownie scoop in your palm to form a shallow bowl. Place a small amount of marshmallow fluff or one mini marshmallow in the center. Carefully wrap the brownie edges over the filling and roll gently between your palms to seal the marshmallow inside, forming a smooth ball.
- Freeze: Repeat the scooping and rolling process with the remaining brownie mixture. Arrange all brownie balls on a plate and place them in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare Coating: In a shallow dish, combine the graham cracker crumbs and sprinkles if using. Set aside.
- Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted. Optionally add 1 teaspoon of oil to thin the chocolate for easier dipping.
- Dip and Coat: Remove brownie balls from the freezer. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off briefly, then roll the coated ball in the graham cracker mixture. Place finished truffles on a parchment-lined plate.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the coated brownie bites for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate shell hardens. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
- Use an 8-inch pan for baking brownies to ensure a soft and gooey texture for scooping.
- Freezing the brownie balls before dipping helps maintain their shape when dipped in chocolate.
- Adding a teaspoon of oil to melted chocolate makes it smoother and easier to coat the brownie balls.
- If mini marshmallows are used instead of fluff, make sure they are fully enclosed inside the brownie for gooey centers.
- Sprinkles add a fun decorative touch but are optional.
