Description

Celebrate the 4th of July with these festive Oreo Cream Cheese Balls, a delicious no-bake treat coated in vibrant red, white, and blue candy melts and topped with patriotic sprinkles. Perfect for parties, these bite-sized delights combine crushed Oreos with creamy cream cheese, offering a rich and creamy texture with a fun and colorful finish.

Ingredients

Oreo Ball Mixture

  • 36 Oreo Cookies
  • 8 ounces cream cheese

Coatings and Decorations

  • 12 oz. red candy melts
  • 12 oz. blue candy melts
  • 12 oz. vanilla almond bark
  • 4th of July sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place half of the Oreo cookies into a food processor and blitz until they become fine crumbs.
  2. Finish Crushing Oreos: Add the remaining Oreo cookies to the processor and blitz again until all the cookies are fully crushed into fine crumbs.
  3. Combine with Cream Cheese: Add 8 ounces of cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs in the food processor and mix until well combined, forming a sticky dough-like mixture.
  4. Form Balls: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into 1 to 1½ inch balls and place them onto a sheet pan or cutting board lined with wax paper.
  5. Chill the Balls: Place the balls in the refrigerator for 1 hour to firm up.
  6. Refine Shape: After chilling, if needed, gently roll the Oreo balls again to round them out as some may settle while chilling.
  7. Melt Blue Candy: Heat the blue candy melts in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well between each until smooth.
  8. Coat with Blue Candy: Dip or drop blue candy melts over half of the Oreo balls, letting excess drip off. Place each ball back onto wax paper; for best coverage, use a fork to let the candy fall evenly.
  9. Add Sprinkles on Blue Balls: Quickly add 4th of July sprinkles to every other blue-coated Oreo ball before the candy sets.
  10. Melt Red Candy: Melt the red candy melts in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between each until smooth.
  11. Coat with Red Candy and Sprinkles: Dip or drop red candy melts over the remaining Oreo balls, then add sprinkles to every other red-coated ball before the candy hardens.
  12. Melt Vanilla Almond Bark: Heat the vanilla almond bark in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well until fully melted.
  13. Prepare for Drizzle: Pour melted almond bark into a plastic sandwich bag and snip off a small corner to create a piping tip.
  14. White Drizzle and Sprinkles: Drizzle the plain (uncoated) Oreo balls with the white almond bark and quickly add sprinkles on top.
  15. Set and Serve: Allow all Oreo truffles to set for 30 minutes at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving and enjoying.

Notes

  • Chilling the balls before coating helps them hold their shape and prevents melting when dipped.
  • If the candy melts become too thick, gently reheat them to maintain smooth dipping consistency.
  • Use wax or parchment paper to prevent sticking during dipping and setting.
  • Use a fork to dip and remove balls to allow excess coating to drip off for neater coverage.
  • Store finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
