Description

Crispy, flavorful Air Fryer Home Fries made with seasoned russet potatoes, onions, and bell peppers. A quick and easy side dish perfect for breakfast or any meal, cooked to golden perfection using an air fryer.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 1 ½ pounds russet potatoes, peeled if desired and cut into ½” chunks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Vegetables & Butter

  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup diced red bell pepper (or green bell pepper)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Peel the russet potatoes if you prefer and cut them into ½ inch chunks for even cooking.
  2. Season Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the potato chunks with olive oil, seasoned salt, and garlic powder until all pieces are well coated.
  3. Initial Air Fry: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 380°F and cook for 15 minutes to start crisping the potatoes.
  4. Add Vegetables and Continue Cooking: Mix the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, and melted butter together. Add this mixture to the potato-filled air fryer basket, reduce the air fryer temperature to 340°F, and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes and vegetables are tender and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Remove the home fries from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking.
  • Russet potatoes work best for this recipe due to their starchy texture, but Yukon Gold potatoes are a good alternative.
  • You can adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding paprika, cayenne, or black pepper.
  • This recipe is easily doubled for larger groups by cooking in batches.
