Description

Bubble Pizza is a fun and easy twist on classic pizza, featuring bite-sized biscuit dough pieces coated in pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, baked to bubbly, golden perfection. Perfect for a quick family meal or casual get-together, this recipe combines the convenience of refrigerated biscuit dough with the irresistible flavors of traditional pizza.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 1 can (16.3 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough

Pizza Sauce Mixture

  • 1 jar (8 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Cheeses and Toppings

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, quartered (plus more for topping, if desired)
  • Basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Grease a 9×9 inch square baking dish and preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature while you prepare the ingredients.
  2. Cut Biscuits: Using kitchen scissors, cut each refrigerated biscuit into 4 smaller pieces to create bite-sized dough bubbles that will cook evenly and absorb the sauce.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Stir thoroughly to distribute the seasoning evenly. Add the cut biscuit pieces, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, and the 1/2 cup quartered pepperoni into the bowl. Mix gently until all biscuit pieces are well coated with sauce and toppings.
  4. Assemble: Pour the coated biscuit mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, and additional pepperoni slices over the top. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if using.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and beginning to brown, and the biscuits are cooked through.

Notes

  • Use kitchen scissors for easier and cleaner cutting of biscuit dough into pieces.
  • You can customize the toppings by adding vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms before baking.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
  • Let the dish cool for a few minutes after baking to set the cheese and avoid burns when serving.
  • This recipe is perfect for a casual meal or as a party snack, adaptable for kids and adults alike.
