Description
Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread is a crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring flaky biscuit pieces coated in garlic butter and layered with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Baked to golden perfection in a Bundt pan, this pull-apart bread is perfect for sharing and makes a delicious accompaniment to marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Butter Garlic Mixture
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- 2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Bread and Cheese
- 2 cans large refrigerated flaky biscuits (8-count each)
- ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella or Italian blend cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously coat a 10 to 12-cup Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray to ensure easy removal of the bread after baking.
- Make Garlic Butter: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop. Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Allow the mixture to cool slightly while you prepare the biscuits.
- Prepare Biscuits: Cut each biscuit into four quarters, creating bite-sized pieces. Place the biscuit pieces into the cooled garlic butter mixture in a large bowl or resealable bag, tossing gently to coat all pieces evenly with the garlic butter.
- Assemble Layers: Arrange half of the garlic butter-coated biscuit pieces in the bottom of the prepared Bundt pan. Sprinkle evenly with half of the Parmesan cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella (or Italian blend), and some fresh parsley. Toss gently to coat the biscuit pieces with cheese and parsley.
- Repeat Layers: Add the remaining coated biscuit quarters to the pan, then top with the remaining Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella, and fresh parsley, tossing lightly to ensure even coverage.
- Bake the Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and cooked through. Avoid opening the oven frequently to keep the heat consistent.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes to set. Carefully invert the Bundt pan onto a serving platter to release the pull-apart bread. Garnish with extra parsley if desired and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for the best flavor, but garlic powder can be substituted in a pinch.
- Make sure the butter mixture is cooled enough before adding biscuit pieces so they don’t become soggy.
- If you like it spicy, increase the red pepper flakes to taste.
- You can substitute mozzarella with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar for a different flavor.
- Serve immediately for best pull-apart texture, but leftovers can be reheated covered with foil.
- Nonstick spray is essential to prevent sticking; alternatively, grease the pan well with butter or oil.
