Description
These Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels are a quick and easy sweet snack that combines buttery pretzel snaps with a warm cinnamon sugar coating. Perfect for an afternoon treat or a festive party snack, they offer a delightful balance of sweet and salty flavors with a buttery, aromatic finish.
Ingredients
Butter Mixture
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. maple syrup
Pretzels
- 4 cups pretzel snaps (butter flavored recommended)
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set this aside for baking the pretzels later.
- Prepare Butter Mixture: Melt the 6 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon maple syrup until well combined.
- Coat the Pretzels: Place the 4 cups of pretzel snaps into a large bowl. Pour the butter mixture over the pretzels and toss thoroughly to ensure every pretzel is evenly coated with the buttery cinnamon mixture.
- Bake the Pretzels: Spread the coated pretzels out on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the pretzels to crisp slightly.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: While the pretzels bake, mix together 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Toss with Cinnamon Sugar: Once the pretzels are done baking, remove them from the oven and transfer back into a large bowl. Immediately sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the warm pretzels and toss well to coat each piece with the sweet cinnamon topping.
Notes
- Use butter-flavored pretzel snaps for the best flavor, but any pretzel snaps can work.
- Ensure pretzels are coated well before baking for even flavoring and crispness.
- You can adjust the cinnamon and sugar ratios to taste if you prefer it more or less sweet or spicy.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with a vegan butter alternative.
