Description
This refreshing Cranberry Fluff Salad is a sweet and tangy dessert salad featuring finely chopped fresh cranberries, grapes, pineapple tidbits, and mini marshmallows combined with fluffy Cool Whip. It’s a perfect make-ahead treat for holiday gatherings and potlucks with its light, creamy texture and vibrant flavors.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups fresh cranberries (rinsed and drained)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup seedless red grapes (halved)
- 1 cup pineapple tidbits (drained)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 3 to 4 cups Cool Whip (thawed, about 1 tub)
Instructions
- Chop and macerate cranberries: Place the cranberries in a food processor and pulse until they are finely chopped but not pureed. Transfer this to a mixing bowl and stir in the sugar. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the cranberries to macerate and soften.
- Add fruit and marshmallows: Once the cranberries have chilled, stir in the halved grapes, drained pineapple tidbits, and mini marshmallows, mixing them evenly throughout the cranberry mixture.
- Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the cranberry and fruit mixture until fully combined and the salad develops a fluffy texture.
- Chill before serving: Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 2 more hours, or overnight if preferred, to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to thicken. Serve it cold for best taste and texture.
Notes
- Make sure to thaw the Cool Whip completely before folding in to avoid lumps.
- This salad tastes even better when prepared a day in advance.
- For variation, you can add chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
- Use fresh cranberries for the best flavor and texture.
- Keep the salad refrigerated until serving to maintain its fluffiness and freshness.
