Description

This Easy Chicken Tetrazzini is a comforting baked pasta casserole featuring tender shredded chicken, creamy mushroom sauce, and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Perfect for a family dinner, it combines linguine pasta with a rich mixture of sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, and seasonings, all baked to bubbly perfection.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 oz. Linguine pasta

Sauce & Filling

  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 20 oz. cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup as a substitute)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup freshly chopped parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 4 cups cooked and shredded chicken

Topping

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Cook linguine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Prepare the oven and casserole dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a 9×13-inch casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, chicken broth, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
  4. Add parsley, chicken, and pasta: Stir in the freshly chopped parsley, cooked shredded chicken, and drained linguine pasta. Mix everything thoroughly so the pasta is well coated with the creamy sauce.
  5. Assemble the casserole: Pour the creamy pasta mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake covered: Cover the casserole dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking the casserole for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  8. Serve: Remove from oven and garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Chicken Tetrazzini!
