Easy to make and perfect for sharing at parties or as a spooky treat, this no-bake delight sets quickly and offers endless customization options for spooky, sweet fun.

Ingredients

Chocolate Base

  • 1 pound semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate bars)

Toppings

  • 1/3 cup candy corn
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles and/or candy eyeballs
  • Pretzels
  • Leftover Halloween candy such as M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, or chopped candy bars
  • Nuts like almonds, peanuts, or shelled pistachios
  • Dried fruit such as cranberries or chopped dried apricots
  • Broken potato chips
  • Oreo cookies, particularly Halloween-colored ones, chopped
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Gummy worms
  • Granola
  • Broken graham crackers
  • Flaked or shredded coconut
  • Roasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line a rimmed baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and to make removal easy.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate chips or chopped bars in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, microwave the chocolate in short bursts, stirring between each until melted (see notes).
  3. Spread the chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared pan. Using a knife or offset spatula, spread the chocolate evenly to a thickness of about 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
  4. Add toppings: Evenly sprinkle the candy corn, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and any other desired toppings over the melted chocolate before it sets.
  5. Harden the bark: Let the chocolate bark harden at room temperature for at least 2 hours until firm, or place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes until set and easy to break into pieces.
  6. Serve and store: Break the bark into bite-sized pieces. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in a cool place to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Microwave directions for melting chocolate: Heat chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted.
  • For best results, use high-quality chocolate to ensure a smooth bark and better flavor.
  • You can customize toppings based on personal preference and what leftover Halloween candy is available.
  • Store the bark away from heat and humidity to prevent melting or blooming.
