Ingredients
Lamb Burger Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped shallots
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp paprika
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fish sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat pan: Preheat a frying pan on medium heat. Using a non-toxic ceramic frying pan is ideal for even cooking and avoiding sticking.
- Mix ingredients: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped shallots, fresh rosemary, fresh cilantro, paprika, salt, and optional fish sauce. Use your hands to mix everything thoroughly.
- Form patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten into burger patties.
- Cook burgers covered: Place the patties in the preheated frying pan and cover with a lid to help them cook through evenly. Cook them for 10 minutes on the first side.
- Flip and finish cooking: After 10 minutes, flip the burgers and cook uncovered on the other side for an additional 10 minutes until fully cooked and browned.
Notes
- Covering the burgers while cooking helps them cook evenly and retain moisture.
- Fish sauce is optional but adds umami depth to the burgers.
- Use fresh herbs for best flavor.
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption of ground lamb.
- Serve with your choice of paleo or Whole30 compliant sides.
