Description

A refreshing Mixed Berry Mojito that combines the tartness of fresh berries and lime with the coolness of mint and the zing of sparkling water, enhanced by smooth white rum. Perfect for a quick and delightful cocktail to enjoy on a warm day.

Ingredients

Fruit & Herbs

  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (3 blackberries, 3 raspberries, 4 blueberries, 2 quartered strawberries)
  • 1/2 lime, cut into wedges
  • 5 fresh mint leaves

Sweetener

  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (or to taste)

Liquids

  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup) white rum
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) chilled club soda or sparkling water

Others

  • Ice cubes or crushed ice
  • Optional garnish: sprig of fresh mint, slice of lime, some fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Muddle berries and lime: Add the mixed berries, lime wedges, and honey or sugar into a tall cocktail glass. Use a muddler or a spoon to crush them together until the berries and lime release their juices and break down, creating a flavorful base.
  2. Gently muddle mint: Add the fresh mint leaves to the glass and lightly muddle just a few times to gently bruise them. This releases the mint’s aromatic oils without making it bitter.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: Pour in the white rum and fill the glass about two-thirds full with ice cubes or crushed ice. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  4. Top with sparkling water: Add the chilled club soda or sparkling water to fill the glass. Give it a final gentle stir to blend everything together.
  5. Garnish and serve: Garnish your mojito with a fresh sprig of mint, a slice of lime, and a few fresh berries if desired. Serve with a thicker straw for easy sipping and enjoy your refreshing cocktail!

Notes

  • Use fresh berries for the best flavor and vibrant color.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or sugar according to your taste.
  • To make a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and add extra sparkling water or a splash of berry juice.
  • Crushed ice helps to chill and dilute the drink slightly for a smoother taste.
  • Gently muddling the mint releases flavor without bitterness; avoid over-muddling.
