Description

This No-Churn Black Forest Ice Cream combines rich, creamy whipped heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk with luscious cherry sauce and chunks of chocolate for a decadent homemade treat that requires no ice cream maker. Perfectly swirled with cherry filling and sprinkled with chocolate, this easy-to-make dessert captures the classic Black Forest flavors in a delightful frozen dessert.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Mix-Ins and Toppings

  • 1 cup cherry sauce (homemade or store-bought cherry filling, divided)
  • 8 ounces chopped chocolate (semi-sweet, dark, or bittersweet, divided)

Instructions

  1. Whip: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the cold heavy cream and vanilla extract on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, creating a light and fluffy base for your ice cream.
  2. Fold in Sweetened Condensed Milk and Salt: Gently fold the sweetened condensed milk and salt into the whipped cream using a rubber spatula, being careful to maintain the airy texture.
  3. Incorporate Cherry Sauce and Chocolate Chunks: Fold in 3/4 cup of cherry sauce along with about 6 ounces of the chopped chocolate into the ice cream mixture, evenly distributing the flavors.
  4. Assemble: Pour the ice cream mixture into a loaf pan. Use a skewer to swirl the remaining cherry sauce through the mixture and sprinkle the leftover chocolate chunks on top for a decorative and flavorful finish.
  5. Freeze: Cover the loaf pan tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours or until the ice cream is firm.
  6. Serve: Remove the ice cream from the freezer and let it soften at room temperature for about 5 minutes before scooping. Serve in cones or bowls with optional hot fudge or chocolate sauce and maraschino cherries for added indulgence. Enjoy!
