Description
This Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream is a creamy, naturally sweet frozen treat made with ripe bananas, peanut butter, and a touch of honey. Blended until smooth and churned in a Ninja Creami, it offers a deliciously healthy alternative to traditional ice cream, perfect for a refreshing dessert or snack.
Ingredients
Ice Cream Base
- 2 ripe bananas (peeled and sliced)
- ¾ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup smooth peanut butter
- 2 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients: Add the sliced bananas, whole milk, smooth peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into a blender or food processor. Blend everything together until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Freeze Mixture: Pour the blended mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Secure the lid tightly and place the container in the freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours until the mixture is completely solid.
- Process in Ninja Creami: After freezing, remove the lid from the pint container and attach it to your Ninja Creami machine. Select the “Lite Ice Cream” function and spin to churn the mixture into a soft, creamy ice cream consistency.
- Adjust Texture: If the ice cream texture appears crumbly after the first spin, add a small splash of milk to the pint and re-spin the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy to the desired consistency.
- Serve and Enjoy: Scoop the peanut butter banana ice cream into bowls. Enjoy it as is or enhance with toppings such as chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, or a drizzle of melted peanut butter for added flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, substitute whole milk with almond milk or another plant-based milk.
- If you don’t have a Ninja Creami, you can use another ice cream maker, but texture may vary.
- Ensure bananas are very ripe for natural sweetness and creamy texture.
- Adding a splash of milk during the re-spin step helps achieve the perfect creamy texture.
- Store leftovers in the freezer and allow to soften slightly before serving.
