Description

Delightfully creamy and indulgent, these Snickerdoodle Truffles combine the cozy warmth of cinnamon-spiced Golden Oreos with smooth cream cheese, all enveloped in a sweet white almond bark coating. Ideal for holiday gatherings or sweet treats anytime, these bite-sized confections are simple to prepare yet impressively delicious.

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14.3-ounce) package Golden Oreos
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Coating

  • 1 pound white almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and set it aside to ensure it is ready to mix smoothly with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Crush the Cookies: Place the Golden Oreos into a food processor and pulse until the cookies are finely ground, with no large pieces left. This creates the perfect crumb base for the truffles.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the Oreo crumbs, ground cinnamon, and pure vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Using an electric mixer, blend everything until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, forming a consistent dough.
  4. Shape the Truffles: Roll the truffle mixture into approximately 1-inch diameter balls, placing them evenly on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Chill: Put the tray with the truffle balls into the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up, which makes dipping easier and cleaner.
  6. Melt the Coating: Microwave the white almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each session until the coating is completely melted and smooth.
  7. Dip and Decorate: Using two forks, dip each chilled truffle into the melted white almond bark, ensuring even coverage. Shake off any excess coating and return the truffle to the parchment-lined tray. Quickly add sprinkles if desired before the coating sets.
  8. Set and Serve: Allow the dipped truffles to sit at room temperature until the coating hardens. Once set, they are ready to be served and enjoyed.

Notes

  • For best results, use cream cheese straight from the refrigerator and allow it to soften to room temperature before mixing.
  • If you do not have a food processor, place the Oreos in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until finely ground.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
  • To speed up setting time after dipping, refrigerate the truffles for 10-15 minutes.
  • Feel free to customize the coating by using milk or dark chocolate melts instead of white almond bark.
