Description

This creamy and delicious Strawberry Milkshake recipe combines rich strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, and sweet strawberry jam blended smoothly with whole milk and a hint of vanilla extract. Topped with homemade whipped cream, this quick and easy milkshake is perfect for a refreshing treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Milkshake Ingredients

  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups strawberry ice cream (about 1 pint)
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries
  • 3 tablespoons strawberry jam
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • Homemade whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Soften the ice cream: Remove the strawberry ice cream from the freezer about 5 minutes before preparing the milkshake to allow it to soften slightly for easier blending.
  2. Prepare blender ingredients: In the container of a blender, add the whole milk, fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, vanilla extract, and break up the softening ice cream as you add it in to facilitate smooth blending.
  3. Blend the milkshake: Start blending on low speed and gradually increase to high speed. Blend for 15-20 seconds until the mixture becomes thick and smooth. Avoid over blending to prevent the milkshake from turning runny.
  4. Serve with topping: Pour the milkshake into glasses, top with homemade whipped cream, and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For an even thicker milkshake, use less milk or add more ice cream.
  • Fresh strawberries can be substituted with frozen if fresh are not available.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less strawberry jam according to taste.
  • To make homemade whipped cream, simply whip heavy cream with a little sugar until soft peaks form.
  • Serve immediately as the milkshake may separate if left standing for too long.
