Ingredients
Milkshake Ingredients
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 cups strawberry ice cream (about 1 pint)
- ½ cup fresh strawberries
- 3 tablespoons strawberry jam
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- Homemade whipped cream
Instructions
- Soften the ice cream: Remove the strawberry ice cream from the freezer about 5 minutes before preparing the milkshake to allow it to soften slightly for easier blending.
- Prepare blender ingredients: In the container of a blender, add the whole milk, fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, vanilla extract, and break up the softening ice cream as you add it in to facilitate smooth blending.
- Blend the milkshake: Start blending on low speed and gradually increase to high speed. Blend for 15-20 seconds until the mixture becomes thick and smooth. Avoid over blending to prevent the milkshake from turning runny.
- Serve with topping: Pour the milkshake into glasses, top with homemade whipped cream, and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For an even thicker milkshake, use less milk or add more ice cream.
- Fresh strawberries can be substituted with frozen if fresh are not available.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less strawberry jam according to taste.
- To make homemade whipped cream, simply whip heavy cream with a little sugar until soft peaks form.
- Serve immediately as the milkshake may separate if left standing for too long.
