Description

Trefoil Banana Pudding is a creamy, no-bake dessert featuring layers of vanilla pudding, sliced bananas, and crunchy Girl Scout Trefoils cookies. Lightly folded Cool Whip adds a fluffy texture, making it a delightful treat perfect for gatherings or a simple family dessert.

Ingredients

Pudding Mixture

  • 1 5.1 oz box vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 16 oz container Cool Whip, thawed and divided

Additional Ingredients

  • 5 bananas, sliced
  • 1 9 oz box Girl Scout Trefoils cookies, lightly broken

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding base: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla instant pudding mix, milk, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth and thickened. Then, gently fold in three-fourths of the thawed Cool Whip to create a light, fluffy pudding mixture.
  2. Assemble the layers: Spoon one-third of the pudding mixture into a trifle dish or large serving bowl. Evenly layer half of the sliced bananas and lightly broken Trefoils cookies over the pudding. Add another third of the pudding on top, followed by the remaining bananas and cookies. Finally, spread the remaining pudding on top.
  3. Top and chill: Spread the remaining Cool Whip evenly over the top layer of pudding and cookies. Cover the dish and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the pudding to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, serve the pudding within 24 hours to prevent the cookies from becoming too soggy.
  • You can substitute the Trefoils cookies with similar buttery shortbread cookies if unavailable.
  • Ensure bananas are ripe but firm to maintain texture in the pudding.
  • Cool Whip should be thawed but still cold for easy folding into the pudding mixture.
  • Chilling the pudding for longer can enhance flavor but may soften cookies more.
