Description

These Turkey Stuffing Balls are a delicious and easy way to transform your leftover turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes into bite-sized savory treats. Perfect as an appetizer or a side dish, they are baked to golden perfection and pair wonderfully with gravy or cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

Turkey Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked finely shredded turkey (leftovers or fresh)
  • 2 ½ cups prepared stuffing (leftovers or fresh)
  • 2 ½ cups mashed potatoes (leftovers or fresh)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Plain breadcrumbs (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside for later use.
  2. Warm Stuffing and Potatoes: Heat the 2 ½ cups of prepared stuffing and 2 ½ cups of mashed potatoes in the microwave for about one minute. This softens them, making them easier to mix and shape.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the shredded turkey, warmed stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing thoroughly until evenly incorporated.
  4. Form Balls: Shape the mixture into approximately 1-inch balls. If the mixture does not hold together well, gradually add plain breadcrumbs, two tablespoons at a time, until the balls maintain their shape.
  5. Bake: Arrange the formed balls evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, turning them halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking and browning.
  6. Serve: Once baked until golden and warmed through, remove the stuffing balls from the oven. Serve immediately with gravy or cranberry sauce for a perfect complement.

Notes

  • You can use leftover turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes, or prepare fresh ingredients for this recipe.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding herbs like parsley or sage if desired.
  • If the balls are too soft and crumbly, additional breadcrumbs can help bind the mixture.
  • These make excellent party appetizers or a fun side dish for any holiday meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to maintain texture.
