Description
A rich and creamy whipped peanut butter cream cheese frosting that’s perfect for cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. This easy-to-make frosting combines smooth peanut butter with tangy cream cheese and sweet powdered sugar, lightened with a touch of heavy cream for a fluffy texture.
Ingredients
Frosting Ingredients
- 8 ounces block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup smooth creamy peanut butter
- 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Beat Cream Cheese and Peanut Butter: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and smooth peanut butter. Beat on high speed using a hand mixer until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Sift in the powdered sugar to avoid lumps and beat again on medium-high speed. The mixture will become slightly clumpy and crumbly at this stage, which is normal.
- Add Heavy Cream: With the mixer running on low speed, slowly add 1 to 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream until the frosting reaches your desired smooth and fluffy consistency. Adjust the amount of cream as needed.
- Use or Store: Spread or pipe this frosting onto your favorite cakes, cupcakes, brownies, or cookies. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Bring to room temperature and rewhip before serving if chilled.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps.
- Adjust the amount of heavy cream to achieve your preferred frosting consistency—less for thicker, more for lighter.
- This frosting can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- If refrigerated, allow it to come to room temperature and re-whip briefly before using.
