Description

Celebrate the holidays with this festive White Chocolate Popcorn recipe, combining crunchy popcorn, creamy white chocolate, colorful chocolate melts, peanuts, and marshmallows for a sweet and salty Christmas treat that’s perfect for parties or a cozy movie night.

Ingredients

Popcorn

  • 1 cup popcorn seeds
  • Oil (for popping popcorn)

Chocolate and Candy Mix

  • 2 – 12 ounce packages premier white chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup green chocolate melts
  • 1/4 cup red chocolate melts
  • Christmas sprinkles (quantity as desired)

Instructions

  1. Pop the Popcorn: Heat a popcorn popper with a small amount of oil, add 1/2 cup of popcorn seeds, and pop according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Repeat with the remaining 1/2 cup of seeds. Spread the popped popcorn onto a tray or large bowl.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: In the microwave, melt one 12-ounce bag of white chocolate morsels at 75% power for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Repeat the process for the second bag.
  3. Add Peanuts: While melting the chocolate, add 1 cup of peanuts to the popcorn. Adjust quantity to taste if desired.
  4. Combine Popcorn and Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the popcorn and peanuts, stirring gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Add Marshmallows: Mix in 1 cup of marshmallows, stirring carefully to incorporate them throughout the coated popcorn.
  6. Drizzle Colored Chocolate: Melt the green and red chocolate melts separately following package instructions. Drizzle both colors over the popcorn mixture for a festive look.
  7. Top with Sprinkles: Sprinkle Christmas-themed sprinkles evenly over the popcorn while the chocolate drizzle is still wet.
  8. Set and Harden: Allow the popcorn mixture to sit for 30 minutes at room temperature to let the chocolate harden before serving and enjoying.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of peanuts and marshmallows according to your taste preferences.
  • Use stirring every 30 seconds during melting to avoid overheating or burning the chocolate.
  • For an even crunchier texture, consider adding pretzel pieces or other nuts.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
